Grill'd

Your good deed for the day

We thought it timely to touch base and get you up to speed on some exciting new happenings here at Grill’d in the month of June.

In Victoria we’re getting behind the Feed Melbourne campaign (www.feedmelbourne.org.au), which aims to raise money to help charities collect, store and distribute food to Victorians who are doing it tough. You might be surprised to learn that this year it is estimated 370,000 Victorians will, at some stage, not know when or where their next meal is coming from.

In New South Wales we’re supporting OzHarvest (www.ozharvest.org), a charity that rescues excess food which would otherwise be discarded and delivers meals to charities supporting the vulnerable. Currently in Sydney OzHarvest delivers 150,000 meals per month with a fleet of 7 vans. That’s a lot of meals!

We’d love your help in supporting these amazing charities. So visit your local Grill’d this month and after you’ve ordered your burger, we’ll give you a token (ok, it’s a bottle top). All we ask is that you put your token in one of the 3 jars representing 3 local groups associated with these charities. These groups are at the coal-face of providing much needed support to people who are doing it tough.

By the end of the month, we estimate we’ll have donated well over $20,000 to local charity groups associated with Feed Melbourne and OzHarvest. Not a bad effort.

We hope the jars and tokens will become a regular fixture at Grill’d as part of our Local Matters project, and in future months we’ll be taking the project to other States. Every month our Local Matters trolley will be featuring 3 different local groups who will be asking for your support. And we’ll be stumping up a $500 donation at each Grill’d to share amongst them. If you want to find out more or get your group’s name on one of our jars check out the Local Matters page on our website.
