Grown With Love, Given With Love

Hot off the press: we've just received the final numbers regarding the Movember burger giveaways and the numbers are HUGE!

- 32,804 burgers given away via our 30 Grill'd restaurants nationwide

- Over $350,000 worth of burgers in total

- The three most visited Grill'd restaurants were Carlton in Melbourne (3333 burgers); Rosalie, Brisbane (2769 burgers); and Newcastle (2056 burgers)

We think this is a huge effort, so on behalf of everyone at Grill'd we’d like say a big thank you to all Mo Bros who have grown their mos with love and raised $25 or more to support Movember via Grill'd.

Grill'd has been proud to 'feed the man behind the mo' and we've loved tracking your loyal progress the past few weeks - keep posting those fuzz photos on Flickr!

We'll have more updates too so stayed tuned...

The Inaugural Grill'd Hall of Fame

This year we challenged all of our Mo Bro's to see who could do 13 different Grill'd burgers in 13 days. With over 20 different beef, chicken, lamb & vegetarian options on our menu, Mo Bros were spoilt for choice.

We know of three brave men who took on this mighty challenge, and at the same time raised funds and awareness for men's health. For this mighty effort, we salute you.

Our inaugural Mo Bro Hall of Fame inductees are:

Andrew Roughan - a legend in his own right. Delved into his own pocket to pay for his final 13th burger. Can't question his dedication to the challenge. To check his Mo and Burgers out click here.

Malcom Bangs and his lovely handlebar Mo tore through 13 burgers with ease. The pure excitement Malcom's face is worth a look on its own. Check out his Mo and burgers here.

Tony Caracella took the challenge to a whole new level - this Queensland local hit up all nine Grill'd restaurants in the Sunshine State from Brisbane to the Gold Coast - a true Hall of Famer. To check out his Mo and Burgers picture diary click here.

Thanks to Mo Bros

Well here we are. Our Movember free burger offer officially finished yesterday, and over the past 2 weeks we've managed to feed over 11,000 MO Bros nationally. Watch this space over the next few days for the full wrap up of our Movember promotion, including the all important total number of burgers given away.

The commitment from Mo Bros to the cause has been fantastic. Everyone has embraced the spirit of the Mo and we've had great feedback from all of our stores about the many 'men behind the mo' who have visited us during Movember. Knowing that each and every one of you raised at least $25 for Movember is great – don't forget it's not too late to keep donations coming through to Movember.

10,000 hungry Mo Bros!

Breaking News: over 10,000 Mo Bros have registered to collect their free Grill'd burgers. What a sensational effort (and a lot of hungry Mo Bros).

This means Grill'd Mo Bros have raised at least $250,000 for the cause - great work!

As a reward for your efforts, our restaurants around the nation have been working hard and ensuring all Mo Bros enjoy the spoils – a lovingly prepared Grill'd burger per day on us.

So which Grill'd restaurant is leading the way with free burger giveaways to Mo Bros?

Melbourne Mo Bros seem to be the hungriest, with the Carlton restaurant breaking all records. Our Hawthorn and Fitzroy stores are also seem popular destinations for Mo Bros keen to get their hands on a Mighty Melbourne. Check out the queues we've been seeing during lunchtime at Carlton spreading into Lygon St.

Carlton Mo Bros

In Queensland, Rosalie Mo Bros are leading the charge with the Big Queenslander being a patriotic choice amongst many Mo Bros. Fortitude Valley and our Southbank restaurant are also seeing many a Mo-Man patiently waiting for their daily fix.

Southbank Mo Bros

Southbank Mo Bros

Mo Bros in New South Wales are also visiting us in record numbers. Crows Nest is feeding many a Sydney Mo Bro, and Newcastle is showing huge support for Movember, with the number of Mo Bros visiting us here exceeding all expectations.

We don't mind a bit of healthy competition at Grill'd, so we're calling on all Mo Bros to head in to your nearest Grill'd and keep the interstate rivalry alive! Registered Mo Bros have got until Sunday 22 November to enjoy a burger on us.

Tell us how your local Grill'd has helped make your Mo Bro burger experience a great one by posting a comment here. Best comment over the next day will win a free $25 gift voucher to keep you enjoying Grill’d well beyond Movember.

The greatest mo playlist

Why not inspire yourself while growing a mo, by listening to some all time great hits by rock stars who celebrated their own facial foliage? Sporting a mo is a rite of passage for these rock gods and we’ve listed some classic music below to get you mo-ving...

The Beatles – Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

This album catapulted The Beatles into mo-history, with all four lads sporting their mo (and colour coordinated band suits) with pride. Special mention to George Harrison for his handlebar mo. Listen to this album while cultivating a psychedelic mo – the ‘Zen Hen’ burger should help too.

The Beatles

Queen – I want to break free

Freddie Mercury took his mo one step further by teaming it with a leather skirt, tank top and stockings – the flamboyant front man of Queen had style. Encourage your mo to ‘break free’ while listening to this Queen classic.

Queen

Donovan Frankenreiter - Day Dreamer

Surfie crooner Donovan Frankenreiter takes a chilled out, dreamy approach to his music, but not his mo – that is one serious tash! So let that mo grow organically with love, while munching on a ‘Summer Sunset’ burger... peace out man.

Degraves the place to be...

We're a couple of days into our free burger offer now and we've been amazed with the mobs of Mo Bros visiting our restaurants. The response to our offer has been huge, and the great part is recognising that all Mo Bros who come and visit us have donated at least $25 to such a worthy cause. Top stuff!

Mo Bro Lane

As a special offer to our Mo Bros based around the Melbourne CBD, we want to offer you the chance to visit our new Degraves St restaurant and grab your free Movember burger after a hard day at the office. That's why for the rest of our Movember offer we're inviting you to visit our Degraves St restaurant between 6pm and 8pm (dine-in only - no takeaway or phone orders) and we'll accept your Tash Ticket*. You can also still visit Degraves St between 8pm - 10pm and receive your free Movember burger.

Degraves the place to be...

If you've already visited us during Movember you’ll know that our burgers are 'made with love' from the highest quality, freshest ingredients. Mo-torcyclists Rev Up at Grill'd

Grill'd Chermside will be Mo Bro heaven on Sunday 22 November when it becomes a blokey blend of burgers, beats and bikies.

More than 50 bikies will be paying a visit to the restaurant, which is located on Gympie Road in Chermside Shopping Centre, at lunchtime.

But this is no turf war. Instead this group of good guys, who are members of the Glasshouse Mountains division of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club, is rolling up to make a donation to Movember.

The group has been growing moustaches and raising money for Movember as a number of their members have been directly affected by depression and prostate cancer.

Grill'd is inviting locals to come along to meet the motorcyclists, chow down on a burger and enjoy the free live music.

The band (and the grill) will fire up at 11.30am and the bikies will roll up soon after.

Mo Bros Rejoice, it's Free Grill'd Burgers!

It's been 346 days since the Grill'd team turned off the grills on the 2008 Movember free burger offer. That's far too long we say! Thankfully, Movember is here again and if you're one of the many Mo Bros who have raised $25 for Movember then we're sure you've been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to have free burgers on us - you deserve it!

Thanks to all the Mo Bros who've been in-store so far to pick up their Tash Ticket in preparation for free burgers from today (Tues 10 Movember) to Sun 22 Movember. We've been busily preparing our stores for the influx of Mo Bros and we're looking forward to welcoming you and your Mo-scaped upper lips from 2pm today. tash_ticket_guy

If you're already a Grill'd connoisseur, you’ll know that our burgers are 'made with love' from the highest quality, freshest ingredients. Ensuring you get the best quality burger experience is important to us, so we hope you appreciate this may mean our burgers may take a little longer during Movember, particularly during 2-4pm and 8-10pm when we're expecting a mob of Mo Bros to be dropping by. Bring in your Mo Bros, pull up a chair and enjoy your free burger at Grill'd - all that fundraising deserves a chance to put your feet up.

Just like your Mo's, our burgers don't just 'happen', they're 'made with love' and require time and effort to ensure they're at their best. We hope you appreciate the difference. See you at Grill'd soon!

Pedro the Grill’d Movember Piggybank heads to our Crows Nest store in preparation for Movember

It’s been a busy few weeks in the Grill’d Support Office gearing up for Movember. Pedro, our Movember Donations Piggy Bank was finishing up a long week in the office when a call came through.

“Pedro, you’re needed in our Crows Nest store ASAP. Movember is around the corner and the locals are keen to get involved.”

Without any hesitation Pedro jumped straight into the Grill’d Kombi to start the journey from Melbourne to Sydney. A big effort – but well worth it to help raise awareness on men’s health issues.

Pedro even found time along the way to drop in on some old mates, including the Dog on the Tuckerbox, near Gundagai. “We’re old schoolmates” Pedro was quoted as saying, “I too hope one day I will be immortalized in a statue located in the middle of nowhere”.

The drive was a long one, but Pedro was committed to getting to Crows Nest and spreading the word about Grill’d getting behind Movember in 2009.

A quick pit stop 415kms out of Sydney and then Pedro fired the Kombi for a final assault on the approach to Sydney, which included a scenic drive over the Harbour Bridge.

900kms later and Pedro arrived at our Crows Nest store on a perfect Sydney Sunday afternoon. Proud of his effort and considering a career in long-haul truck driving, Pedro rewarded himself with an Almighty Beef Burger (we didn’t have the heart to tell him there was crispy trim bacon in the burger!).

Keep an eye out for Pedro and all his mates in store during the month of Movember and be sure to donate to such a worthy cause.
