Helping your community is no trivial matter

  • Local Matters

On Monday the 22nd of May the team at Wintergarden are going above and beyond to help support their three Local Matters groups by hosting a trivia night.

Teams can register four people for $20, with $10 being donated directly to one of the three groups. Simply head into the restaurant or give them a buzz.

Our Wintergarden restaurant falls within Queensland’s CBD which has a slightly different Local Matters structure. Instead of each Brisbane CBD restaurant having three different groups; Eagle St Pier, Albert St, Wintergarden and South Bank join forces each month to support the same three groups. Therefore these groups have the opportunity to receive a higher monthly donation of up $1,200.

The fun commences at 6pm and the night is a great way to hang with friends and give back to your community at the same time. What’s not to love? But if trivia isn’t enough to convince you, here’s a bit of information about the three community groups you’d be helping support.

• Creative Tracks is an initiative of Human Ventures which aims to help young people in Indigenous communities by helping them build skills, leadership and confidence.

• The Rotaract Club of Brisbane CBD is raising funds for their initiative, Days For Girls, which provides hygiene products for girls in developing countries to help them attend school.

• The Motor Neurone Disease Association Queensland (MNDAQ) is committed to supporting and maintaining the quality of life for all people living with MND within Queensland.

These groups rely on the support of the community to keep up their good work, so make sure you get involved by registering a trivia team at Grill’d Wintergarden. It’s a night not to be missed!
