On any given night a whopping 116,000 Australians are considered homeless, and these numbers are only increasing.
Everyone deserves support when they’re doing it tough, and that’s why this April, Local Matters will be a little different, in a big way. For the entire month of April, our Local Matters jars in ACT and QLD will be dedicated to three leading health & wellness support groups.
It’s our way of giving back local groups who do big things, giving disadvantaged Australians a leg up when they need it most.
With your help, we'll donate $22,000 to those who need it most.
Meet the groups
Sunny Street
Sunny Street provides free healthcare on the streets to Aussies living in poverty or experiencing homelessness. They provide care for wounds, mental health support, drug use support, medications, health care education, and big hugs.
The Good Box
The Good Box is a non-profit social enterprise that creates beautifully packaged gift boxes for people (and pets) experiencing homelessness in Australia. They have helped over 15,000 vulnerable Australians so far and aim to double that this year. Your donation will be going directly to their current project of recruiting and training new volunteers to increase their impact even more.
Every Little Bit Helps
Supporting victims of domestic violence and homelessness by providing personal hygiene care packs made up of donated hotel toiletries. Your support will allow them to distribute their care packs to people in need throughout QLD.
More on Local Matters
Spreading the love to our local communities matters to us.
This is why we launched Local Matters in 2011 as a way to give back. We use what we have: our jars and your token votes to support causes and groups in our communities. Find out more, or apply here: grilld.com.au/about/localmatters
