Grill'd City Support

Feeding folks doing it tough

City Support Dinners are one way we
put our money – and burgers – where our
mouth is, by giving back to the community.

On the first Tuesday of every month, we close six of our Grill'd CBD restaurants around Australia from 5pm. For the rest of the night, our burger-slingers team up with Vinnies and Salvos to feed anyone for free - no questions asked. We started City Support Dinners in March 2022 at Grill’d Southern Cross, in Melbourne.

Now, folks doing it tough in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra know they can turn up for a free Grill'd meal.

So far, we've given

23,254 BURGERS

to people in need.

Making Space at the table

Our City Support Dinners are a safe space for folks experiencing disadvantage to enjoy a meal
and other people’s company in a public place – with dignity.

Members of our restaurants and support office come together to feed and welcome those who need it most.
We take the time to sit down and chat with patrons, and foster meaningful connections.

We want everyone to feel seen and heard.

A healthier planet isn't just about green initiatives and healthy burgers, but caring for the
welfare of our communities and making space for everyone at the table.

Vinnies

“One of the most simple and powerful things we see, across multiple support services here at Vinnies, is the transformative power of human contact.

The Grill’d team has made a tangible commitment to not only give food – to people whose meals can be few and far between – but to open its restaurant doors to allow them to dine in comfort and dignity.

Our Vinnies Soup Van volunteers are proud to be part of this initiative.”

The Salvation Army

Each month, Salvos invites people experiencing homelessness to enjoy a substantial meal at the Grill’d City Support Dinners.

Providing connection and access to broader support networks, The Salvation Army links community members to specialised programs giving those in need the access and ability to transform their situation.

We’re proud to work with the Salvation Army as part of our City Support Dinners, providing meals to some of the most vulnerable community members across our inner cities.
